Graduation Day

May 9th, 2010

It has finally come and pass. I’ve officially joined the ranks of college graduates. Graduation day has been on my mind for the past 6 years, and didn’t seem like it would ever get here. And what a day it was!

My family came to visit Vermont and watch me graduate, so we all got to hang out for the weekend. I surprised them by graduating cum laude and did a sweet jump-kick-heel-tap-ninja-pirate move at the end of the aisle. They were very proud, and I was glad they came all the way across the country to show their support.

A long time ago, I asked my dad if he would go skydiving with me when I graduated college. He said yes, but I don’t think he ever really thought it through, or assumed I would forget by the time I graduated. Well, I didn’t. He was jumping with me, whether he wanted to or not. This was both of our first jumps, and we were both very excited. (Okay, so Dad was mostly nervous.)

After skydiving and dinner, my friends threw me a “graduation / going-away” party. It was a blast; I got to bid farewell to the best friends I could ever ask for, and was finally able to rewind and relax after a long day. My friends were sad to see me go, but they understand that it’s time for me to move on to a city. Besides, the mountains are higher in Colorado, which means better snowboarding, mountain biking, longboarding, and all the other mountain sports I’ve come to love so dearly.

Introducing New Site

March 31st, 2010

I’m giving a go at using Wordpress for a content management system. So far, I really like it. There are still a few quirks that I haven’t figured out yet, but it’s been fairly enjoyable so far. I have created a theme to match the look and feel of my previous website, but a content management system made more sense than editing and uploading static HTML pages for everything. We’ll see how it goes!
